In hospital … 276 miles away :(

Dad had some business meetings up in the North West this week.  As Mum was feeling pretty well in herself, she decided to travel up with him and catch up with friends and family in Barrow.

However, in less than 12 hours of arriving in Barrow, things turned a little pear-shaped.  It looks as though she’s picked up an infection and her white blood cell count is too low … and will be in hospital for a couple of days until her white blood cell count picks up.  Dad did offer to drive her straight back down to Reading, but the docs said she needed to be admitted asap.  So far so good and the consultants and nurses have been brilliant.  She’s in a side-room, in pretty good spirits but just very frustrated to be stuck in hospital rather than shopping in Kendal with her friend, Julie!  The fact that she can only watch Wimbledon on a tiny TV is also a bit of an annoyance (but not as much as not being able to watch it at all!!).

She was finally came out of home on Wednesday … and is still feeling fine.  Fingers crossed her levels have come up sufficiently so she can undergo chemo as planned next week.

Anyway, have finally finished my digi album of our cruise onboard Oceana earlier this year … take a sneaky peek here:
