Cotswold Wildlife Park

We took Callum up to the Cotswold Wildlife Park on Good Friday and had a lovely day. Although the sun was shining, it was deceptively chilly. We saw plenty of animals and an opportunity for me to put into practise what I'd learnt the weekend before (no pressure then!).

Jon and Callum really liked the falconry corner ... they had a Canadian eagle and we were glad this wasn't flying around when we were there ... it could have Callum for breakfast!

They've had White Rhino there for about 30 years, so they tend to spend much of the time sleeping!

Unfortunately for us, they don't feed the penguins on Fridays so we missed that spectacle (Jon made sure we were well away from the Tarantula house at the time of their touch-and-feel sessions too).

The Siamangs (chmp-lookalikes) were great fun to watch. There was a tiny baby there too, clinging to it's mummy.

Although the banana trees were hibernating, there were some stunning flower beds with very vibrant planting.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

The last two weeks have just flown by and have certainly been packed with stuff going on. First there was a 3-evening PhotoShop course. 9 hours packed full of useful insights and tips on how to do all the really creative elements that is difficult to learn from reading a manual.


I have also been on a one-day digital camera course to try and get me away from Auto Mode. The two lasses that ran the course were fantastic and had a real knack of explaining in a way everyone understood. Av and Tv mode here I come! But boy was my brain hurting after both these courses.


This week was the first week of the Easter hols and the weather has been glorious. We spent much of Monday and Thursday at Beale Park as they've a fabulous kiddies play area. We couldn't get Callum out of the Little Tikes Village.

Any house with doors and shutters and he's happy as larry for hours (no joke!). He loves opening and closing things (and drives us potty at home doing the same!). We've taken out a season ticket so there'll be plenty more trips this year.
