No Birds In Our Garden!

Over recent weeks, Jon's comments on several occassions that we don't get as many birds in our garden as we used to. And that's in spite of a tree full of fat balls and nut feeders. Today, we may have discovered the answer.

A female sparrowhawk had decided to have her starling lunch in the garden!! It was like a wildlife programme unfolding in your back garden and managed to take some photos before she flew off (taking her meal with her so Jon won't have up the mess this evening!).

Jon'll be slightly disappointed on two accounts. 1) that he missed this sight (as he wasn't working from home) and 2) that she didn't decide to visit us on Sunday whilst Jon was doing his RSPB Garden Watch Survey. He would have been very chuffed to report a Sparrowhawk sighting.
